There is a mandolin solo provided for each song, in standard notation and tablature,
and there is a songbook section where each song is laid out with chord diagrams
over the lyrics, with mandolin chords on the left page and guitar chords on the right page. Additionally there are exercises and verbal instruction provided in the front section of the book and in the back of the book there are pages showing larger diagrams of mandolin and guitar chords.
CD: Each song is played with mandolin and guitar in separate channels so you can turn off one or the other using your balance control. Also there is a rhythm track provided for each song, so you can play with both mandolin and guitar backing you up. Roland gives you some oral
instruction too, in a couple of tracks dealing with technique and tremolo, and on the last track tells a little story.
